Ephesians 4:25
Speak the Truth
Putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor.
Telling the truth is easy when nothing has gone wrong.
It gets hard when the mug is broken and nobody saw who did it.
A lie feels safe for about a minute. Then it needs another lie to hold it up, and then another one after that, and before long it is exhausting.
The truth works the other way round. It feels hard for a minute, and then it is over, and you can breathe again.
God does not ask us to be perfect. He asks us to be honest. A family where everybody tells the truth is a family where everybody can relax.
Something to talk about: What makes it hard to tell the truth sometimes?
