Parents and Teachers
How to use HeartFelt Kids at home, in a classroom, at church, at daycare, or in an after school group.
Songs for Circle Time
Music Mountain is sorted by what a song is for, which is usually how you are choosing one.
Open the song on one screen and press play when the group is settled. Nothing on HeartFelt Kids starts by itself, so you decide when a song begins, and nothing else is suggested when it ends.
- Pick a place on Music Mountain. Sing-Along Meadow for songs a group joins in with, Dance Around Falls for songs that get everyone moving, the Learning Bridge for letters, numbers, and colors, the Kindness Trail for taking turns and being gentle.
- Look for Words on screen on the card. Those songs have a lyric video, so the words appear as the song plays and a group that cannot read yet can still follow the shape of it.
- Play it twice. Children join in properly on the second time through, and the second listen is where the words start to stick.
Bible Adventures for Family or Classroom Discussion
Every Bible story is built to be stopped in the middle of, which is the opposite of how most things online are built.
Each story is told in short picture panels rather than as one long page. Read one panel, look at the picture, and let the questions come before you move on. Nothing advances until somebody chooses to.
At the end of every story there is a memory verse and a question written for a family or a class to talk about together. The question has no correct answer, so a child who says something unexpected has not got it wrong.
Stories that have narration can be listened to instead of read, which helps a mixed group where some are reading and some are not. Every story also has a printable coloring page tied to it, so the quiet ten minutes afterwards is already planned.
Printable Resources
Print as many copies as you need, for as many children as you have. There is no limit and nothing to ask us about first.
Age Guidance
HeartFelt Kids is made for children roughly four to eight. Nothing is locked by age, and a younger or older child is welcome to whatever they enjoy.
-
Ages 3 and 4
Songs and pictures. Play the song, point at what is happening, and let them join in on the parts that repeat. Reading is not expected of them yet, and nothing here asks for it.
-
Ages 5 and 6
The middle of what the site is for. Bible stories read one panel at a time, songs with the words on screen, coloring pages after. Most children this age can work the play button themselves.
-
Ages 7 and 8
Reading on their own. The read along stories, the worksheets, and the discussion question at the end of a Bible story are where this age gets the most out of it.
Safety and Privacy
The short version. The privacy page has all of it.
- Children are never asked for a name, an email address, a phone number, a school, or a location.
- There are no child accounts, so there is nothing for a child to sign in to and nothing to forget.
- No advertising and no behavioral tracking, so nothing follows a child off the site.
- Songs and videos play in our own player. Nothing is embedded from an outside video site, so no unrelated recommendations appear.
- Nothing plays by itself, anywhere. A child has to press play.
- The only forms on the site are for grown ups, and they are on this side of it.
Classroom Packs Are Coming
A whole lesson in one download: the song, the story, the discussion questions, and the printables that go with them, gathered in one place instead of found one at a time.
They are not ready yet, and we would rather open the site without them than keep everything else waiting. Every piece that will go into a pack is already here and already free, so nothing is being held back from you in the meantime.
If you teach a class, run a Sunday school, or look after a group, write to us and say what a pack would need to have in it to be worth printing. That is the fastest way to make sure the first one is useful.
