The Seed That Waited

Lily planted one seed in a paper cup.
She put the cup on the windowsill.
Then she waited.

On Monday the cup was just soil.
On Tuesday the cup was just soil.
On Wednesday Lily wanted to dig it up and look.

Oliver said, wait a little longer.
He said the seed is busy down there.
Growing happens where you cannot see it.

On Saturday there was a small green curl.
It had been growing all week.
Lily just could not see it yet.
