Grandma’s Song

Joel's grandma came to stay for a week.
She brought one small bag
and a very slow way of walking.

She was slow on the stairs.
She was slow at the table.
Joel wanted to run on ahead.

Instead he walked beside her.
She told him about a song
she used to sing when she was small.

Now Joel knows that song.
Nobody else in the house knows it.
Slow is where some things are kept.
